The Stone Days are a recurring folk festival with a century shift testimony for the whole family.
We celebrate Stenstan’s unique history and cultural heritage where everything is the same but not the same. Visitors are offered, among other things, timely square trade, guided tours, tours of historic real estate, try out activities, film viewing, music, theatre, dance, play, historical vehicles and much more.
The main program runs between 10:00-16:00. Some program points close at 16:00.

The Big Town
Variety Society Karneval

Step into a world full of crazy antics with magic, juggling and acrobatics! Visit the mysterious exhibition and let yourself be swept in the story of mystery. Everything in a stunning nineteenth-century environment with vevpositive, folders and lovely characters. Suitable for the whole family! Between the performances, you can meet the artists and see small performances, and why not be drawn into the tent to see beautiful films from Sundsvall’s history.

Trade locally and locally produced when the square trade takes place in Stenstan. Several different exhibitors offer everything from local groceries to crafts.
Sundsvalls Meassingsextet

Enjoy classic rolls, poles, marches and well-known melodies when Sundsvalls Mässingsextet fills the Great Square with traditional brass stoners. A evocative music experience that brings the thoughts to the brown and use orchestras of time.

A city walk in the fire track

Enjoy the dramatic story of the Sundsvallsbranden in 1888 along with the author Svenåke Boström during an exciting walk.

A historic walk in the stone town that emerged after the Great Fire in 1888. We look at what the houses can tell and what the architect wanted. Is it possible to understand who the developer was and what interests he had by studying the embellishments, decorations, texts and paintings of the facades? Who was Sofia Gisberg and what can the fountain of the Friend Gift tell you about Sundsvall? What was the spirit of time and what architecture styles were? Join us on a journey through Sundsvall’s history and discover how the city has changed over time. Through photographs from the Sundsvall of the 1950s and 60s, you will experience a time of faith in the future, development and major urban transformations. The exhibition is shown at Sundsvalls Museum and is based on images from the museum’s unique collections of photos.
Exhibition: The City that Turned
Follow Sundsvall’s journey from lively wooden town to the unique stone town we see today. Through stories, photographs and historical settings, you will experience how the city fire changed the city forever and how Sundsvallsborna together built something new from the ashes.
Become an object detective
We lost several important items in the exhibition. The city that transformed itself and needs your help to find them. The object detective picks up the questions at the reception in the Culture magazine. Diploma to all participants.
Become a word detective
Can you find the secret words? Follow the clues in the museum’s studio floor and help the Orddetektiven to solve the mission. A fun and clever activity for children aged 5 and above – and all participants receive a diploma as evidence of their detective work.
