The Force of the Andes invites you to a workshop in Latin American folk dance.
Workshop Content
This workshop introduces participants to the vibrant dance and music culture of the Andes. Participants will have the opportunity to try traditional dances such as cueca, huayno, and tinku, where rhythm, community, and storytelling are at the forefront.
Through live music, participants will experience how dance reflects the daily lives of the people, nature, and the cultural traditions in the Andean countries.
Performers
- Julian Vigil – guitar, charango, and percussion
- Alejandro Vega – pan flute, quena, and Andean wind instruments
- Liliana Zavala – vocals and dance
Musicians and dancers demonstrate how rhythm, melody, and movement interact to create the unique sound and dance world of the Andes.
NOTE! LOCATION: Ånge municipal building - Myckelåsen assembly hall - Torggatan 10 in Ånge
The workshop is part of Skapa kultur festival taking place on Saturday, September 26th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
